Dice, rumours, and a tailor unexpectedly drawn into adventure: it sounds like the beginning of a D&D session, but this time you can find it on the page. Our Dungeon Master Jelle Spruyt penned the short story De Trollenmoller, featured in Verhalen uit de Drakenvleugel 4.

In Lindelo, whispers about bloodthirsty Trolls are becoming more persistent. Tailor Elric must determine who and what he can trust. Who does he draw near, and who should he keep at arm's length? When is it time to distance yourself from someone or something? When do you let go entirely? And how do you navigate these choices as the world around you grows increasingly perilous?

De Trollenmoller is a fantasy tale filled with drama and adventure: a story about trust, doubt, and personal growth when you might not feel prepared at all. Elric initially discovers how not to approach things, but throughout the narrative, he transforms into something he never intended to be: an adventurer.

This makes the story particularly enjoyable for anyone who loves Dungeons & Dragons. A great D&D adventure isn't just about defeating monsters; it's about making choices, trusting allies, learning from mistakes, and discovering what kind of hero your character becomes once the dice start rolling.

All stories in the book series are inspired by Dungeons & Dragons. Many of the writers are D&D players or Dungeon Masters themselves, and you can sense that in the atmosphere. The tales feel like entering a tavern where every character has their own quest, secret, or scar.

Jelle also contributed to the first edition of Verhalen uit de Drakenvleugel, which has since attracted over 600 readers. Interested in what others think of the series? You can find reviews on Hebban.
